Karen Alexander is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with Statistics as her major. At the University, she learned computer programing languages and was hired as a Computer Programmer and later became a Systems Analyst. After marrying four years later, Karen and her husband chose to start a family. Preferring for Karen to be a stay at home mom, they launched a successful Video Production Company filming, editing and producing videos. Weddings, business presentations, school programs, graduations and dance recitals were their specialties.

In 1998 the video business was sold, and Karen was hired as a Computer Programmer for Y2K conversion. After the conversion was complete, she became an instructor for the International Business School where she taught a range of students from High School graduates to middle aged adults who desired to improve their job skills. She taught Computer 101 and Personal Development classes. She was officially Certified in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.

In 2002, Karen started her company Computer Tutor, Inc. to help people learn about technology. She has enjoyed teaching and inspiring women and men to be more comfortable with their computers, cell phones, tables, smart TV’s, and DVD players. Whatever her clients desired or are required to learn, she helped them accomplish those tasks. Some clients chose to learn how to simply work a mouse and mouse pad while others preferred to learn all about sending and receiving emails. Other clients were interested in using their iPhones for taking pictures, storing in folders and editing those pictures using the computer or iPhone. Safely paying bills online is often requested by clients.

Over the years, Karen has helped clients learn tasks ranging from developing PowerPoint presentations to creating address labels. She has also helped create Photo Books online with clients own pictures. Learning new software and navigating the internet are also requested by many clients. Karen’s focus is helping clients learn about technologies and the skills required for ease of use and confidence.
